Kathy A. Mercogliano is a seasoned lawyer with over 20 years of legal experience. She graduated with honors, magna cum laude, from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2001, where she also served on the Campbell University Law Review, and has handled a wide variety of legal cases since that time. She managed her own law office, Mercogliano & Associates, PA, in Fuquay Varina before joining our firm on October 1, 2024. Her areas of concentration as a lawyer here are real estate law, estate planning, estate administration, corporate, and civil litigation.
Kathy brings a wide range of skills and legal experience to our firm. In addition to being a licensed lawyer, she is also a registered nurse, graduating in 1989 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . After graduating from UNC, she served in the United States Navy and the United States Naval Reserve. She has worked in various hospital settings as both a pediatric and operating room nurse at renowned hospitals including the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland; Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland; Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina; and DHC-Northport Medical Center in Northport, Alabama. She even worked aboard the USNS Comfort in the Persian Gulf during her deployment in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Her education, training and experience has enabled Kathy to build a reputation as a lawyer for professionalism, integrity, and a client-centered approach, earning the respect of her peers and the trust of her clients.
With our satellite office in Fuquay Varina, she is able to serve not only Harnett County but also her former clients in Wake County as well as serve new clients of Kelly, West and Murphy here in Lillington, North Carolina.
Kathy is married and they have one son.
